Shallow Waters
02:33
|
|||
The water's looking fine
And I'm feeling clear of mind
Maybe - just maybe - now's the time
To raise my sails high
There's a soft wind passing by
And on the water lies the sky
She's all old oak and pine
In these shallow waters of mine
I'm on the crest of something big
And I want that wave to break

Shore's Door
03:40
|
|||
I awake inside a dream and stand on two feet
To judge by the rocks this is definitely ghost town
How is it I've been these walls before?
How is it I've been at war before?
I awake inside a dream and stand on two feet
Wait - there's those sirens again and a little voice inside of me
And it says what are you what are you
what are you doing here?
And I said everyone's gotta dream sometimes
And not loving's like running out of luck
I awake on shore's door just us and the dogs
My friend's name's Rolando and he seems lost
How is it you're living here on the beach
How is it you're living out on the beach
You're Olympic heart is beating on
You're the richest poor man I ever have seen
So what are you doing here?
And he said everyone's gotta dream sometimes
And not loving's like running out of luck

Made of Steel
02:08
|
|||
So you're brave faced
You're made of steel
When the others have left
Who you gonna save?
When you're happy
Who you gonna blame?
What a heavy world
That’s not your cross
I know it's held up by a few bolts
So I forgive my self as I unfold

Mother's Lungs
02:24
|
|||
I feel the tug-of-war
Down beneath my bones
I feel the push and pull of blood
I got a fight going on
With immune ghosts
And plain regular ghosts
They tend to aim at me
I tend to try hard not to care
I'm sorry but you'll have to go
I can't feel my feet
There's no-one after me
I swear I saw a knife
In his other hand
I do the heavy work
Sow seeds of unity
Ever since I was a child
I hear ancestral rhyme
I see my father's shoes
And his father's shoes
I feel the rush of pumping blood
I have my mother's lungs
I have my mother's lungs
I sing my father's songs
You breathe I breathe
Time sends and I receive

Bob The Railway Dog
03:14
|
|||
On those old steam powered lines
Bar for smoke and engine roar
The drivers had just one companion
He had them eat out of his paw
His fur was matted but his face was fine
Come up close, he won't bite!
He'd found a home between those lines
Where boundless lands just waited to be seen
He road for free just like some politician
Stop him not and let him jog on
He sat up front right by the coals
And loved to hear that whistle blowing
His ears perked up + when he heard it
And his shaggy tail it started to dancing
From broken hill to Port Augusta
From train to train and from town to town
Bob was every man's best friend
They said come aboard, feel free

Pegasus
02:59
|
|||
Nine young bodies pile in and light a fire
Just leave that door ajar, it's smokey in here anyway
And it rises up by the winged horse
Who's strung up from the rafters
There's a brown bag floating round
Our voices met and then danced some
I don't think her wings can hold us
The dogs are right in by the coals
Lucky's picture in the paper's on the wall
There's dust across the floor
And smoke between all our breaths
I know it's a little thing
But it feels like a mountain

Soft Hands
02:40
|
|||
It fades into another range
Life's like that - we move from phase to phase
If not for our history, and memory and pride
Soft hands slowly release
It fades into another channel
Life's like that - we turn from page to page
If not for our desperate, petty clinging on
Soft hands slowly release
We all try to find something for our pride
To dig its claws into
